I believe that everything connects. I believe that the spaces between connections are more important than the connections themselves. For it is in those spaces that I learn who I am. And that is my purpose in creating work.
I am mostly a painter. As a mixed media artist, I choose materials for their appropriateness to the unfolding image. Sometimes I work on a flat surface, sometimes on a more dimensional surface. Either way, I begin a work with a spontaneous search for form, allowing the emerging form itself to set the stage for a dialog between my hand and the materials. It is an intuitive process. A response to my unconscious thoughts.
